I am a painter working in acrylics on large canvas and intimate wood panels. Born into a family with deep Valencian roots, my connection to the Mediterranean tradition of light and color only became clear when I discovered the work of Joaquín Sorolla, the great painter of Valencia, Spain. His fearless use of color, his expressive brushstrokes, and his beautiful interpretation of quotidian scenes guide and inspire my work in ways I am still discovering.
I studied fine arts at the Escola Panamericana de Arte in São Paulo, Brazil, where the city itself was my first subject: urban, colorful, chaotic. It was where I found my voice as a painter.
Moving to Indiana changed everything. Surrounded by open skies, still water, and the unhurried rhythm of a small Midwestern city, I discovered what I had been looking for all along: quiet. The chaos gave way to calm, the urban density to open horizon, the noise to light.
Today I paint the landscapes that surround me, the places I have visited, and the quiet moments of everyday life. Always beginning with light, always with the same intention: to paint something that makes people stop, breathe, and feel at peace. People who see my paintings often tell me they feel calm just looking at them. That is the highest thing I could hope to achieve.
Based in Northwest Indiana and conveniently located near Chicago, I welcome local collectors and am happy to arrange personal delivery or ship artwork nationwide.
